Wait, what?
Google (and so YouTube) invented Angular.js and Facebook invented React.js… so it’s clear that they had some difficulties before introducing the “webapp” concept.

“The way they work doesn’t require JS” are you sure? How could Facebook run its realtime features? And what about streaming on YouTube?

Ecommerce dont’ need JS, once again, are you sure? Have you ever been on the deep web where JS is disabled by TOR?

I’m sorrry but I can’t agree with you on any single point :(
